Older Samsung Galaxy Phones May Soon Get AirDrop Style File Sharing

Samsung recently introduced AirDrop style file sharing through Quick Share on its newer Galaxy devices, allowing users to share files directly with Apple devices. Now it appears that older Galaxy phones may also receive this feature through a software update, although the functionality is not fully active yet.

Some users have reported seeing a new option called Share with Apple devices in Quick Share settings on older Galaxy phones, which suggests Samsung is preparing to expand the feature to more devices.

Quick Share Update Appearing on Older Galaxy Devices

Reports suggest that the Quick Share update is appearing on several Galaxy devices including older flagship models. The update is reportedly arriving through the Galaxy Store rather than a full system update, which means the feature can be added without a major Android update.

However, while the toggle option is visible in settings, the feature does not appear to be fully functional yet. This likely means Samsung and Google still need to enable the feature on the server side before it becomes available for everyone.
