iPhone 18 Pro Design: 3 Changes Rumored for Apple's Next Flagship


Apple is expected to unveil the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max next month, and the new models could bring several visual changes alongside their internal upgrades. While the overall iPhone design is expected to remain familiar, Apple may be refining some of the details that have divided opinion on the iPhone 17 Pro.

The rumored changes include a more seamless rear design, a smaller Dynamic Island, and a fresh selection of Pro colors. None of these details have been confirmed yet, but together they could make the iPhone 18 Pro feel noticeably different from its predecessor.

1. Apple could unify the rear glass and aluminum

The iPhone 17 Pro introduced a two-tone rear design that separates the glass section from the aluminum portion of the back. The bold colors have received plenty of attention, but the contrast between the materials has been more divisive.

Apple could address that with the iPhone 18 Pro by making the rear glass and aluminum appear more closely matched. A report from Weibo leaker Instant Digital claims the redesigned back will create a more seamless, unified look across the two materials.

2. The Dynamic Island could be around 35% smaller

Apple is not expected to eliminate the Dynamic Island completely just yet. The iPhone 18 Pro will likely still have a visible cutout, but reducing its size could give the display a cleaner appearance without requiring a full move to a hole-punch design.

3. Dark Cherry could headline new Pro colors

Apple took a more adventurous approach to Pro colors with the iPhone 17 lineup, and Cosmic Orange quickly became one of its most recognizable finishes. The company appears ready to continue that strategy rather than returning entirely to conventional black, white, and gray options.

The iPhone 18 Pro is currently rumored to come in Dark Cherry, Silver, and Light Blue, with a darker Space Gray or Black finish also possible. Dark Cherry is expected to be the standout option, with reports describing it as a blend of burgundy, coffee, and deep purple.

The color could become a major part of Apple's launch marketing, much as Cosmic Orange did with the previous generation. It would also give buyers another distinctly different finish without changing the underlying design of the phone.
