Samsung One UI 9 Rollout: Galaxy S25 and Older Galaxy Phones Get Update Roadmap


Samsung has started rolling out stable One UI 9, with the Galaxy S26 series receiving the Android 17-based update first. Now, owners of older Galaxy devices have a clearer idea of when they can expect the update.

Samsung Thailand has published an official rollout schedule that puts several recent Galaxy phones next in line.

Galaxy S25 and Foldable Phones Get One UI 9 in September

According to Samsung Thailand, the Galaxy S25 series, Galaxy Z Fold 7, and Galaxy Z Flip 7 are scheduled to begin receiving One UI 9 on September 28.

The Galaxy S23 FE is expected to follow sometime in October.

These dates apply specifically to Thailand, so they should not be considered a confirmed global schedule. Samsung often releases major software updates at different times depending on the country, carrier, and device variant.

Still, the announcement provides a useful look at Samsung's plans beyond the Galaxy S26 lineup.

One UI 9 Rollout Will Vary by Region

Samsung has provided different levels of detail in its announcements across markets.

In the US, Samsung confirmed that One UI 9 began rolling out to the Galaxy S26, S26 Plus, and S26 Ultra on September 16, but it did not provide dates for older models.

Canada has offered a little more information, with the Galaxy S26 rollout scheduled to begin on September 21. However, Samsung has not yet published a detailed schedule for the older Galaxy models there.

That means Galaxy owners should avoid assuming that the September 28 date applies to every country.

Preparing Your Galaxy Phone for One UI 9

A major Android update can take up considerable storage, so it is worth cleaning up your phone before installing it. Removing unnecessary downloads, duplicate photos, and unused files can create enough room for the update and make the upgrade process easier.

  • October: Galaxy S23 FE

The schedule will likely differ across regions. Samsung has confirmed the One UI 9 rollout for the Galaxy S26 series in several markets, while availability for older devices is being announced separately.

If you own one of the upcoming devices, check Settings > Software update regularly. Once One UI 9 is available for your specific model and region, the update should appear there.
